Vision
On the journey of planting a church, don’t just survive, thrive!
Simply put, church planting is difficult. Thrive exists to help planters thrive, not just survive the journey.
Thrive Church Planting provides assessment, coaching, training, and care for those who are starting new churches in order to create greater gospel access in the Northwest, West Coast, and North America. Leaders thrive when they are connected to Christ. It is also true that effective leaders multiply themselves by helping connect and root others in Christ. In order to accomplish this vision, Thrive models, trains, and celebrates a pattern of abiding in Christ.
Values
Empowering Leaders: To “empower” means to "give power or authority to." Thrive will help people tap into the power, dreams and vision that God gives them (Acts 1:8; 2:17-18; Col. 1:27-29).
Spiritually Rooted: To truly thrive, leaders and their ministry have to be connected to Christ. Because church planting is so demanding, the prayerful dependency and faith of planters has to be robust. Thrive models, trains, and support leaders to draw deeply from the well of life that Jesus offers (John 4).
Emotional Health: Recognizing that God made us in His image as humans with emotions, we want to value emotional health and resource leaders to find paths of grace, healing, and forgiveness (Psalm 139).
Innovation and Creativity: In order to be effective in a rapidly changing culture, leaders need to be creative and innovative (1 Cor 9:22-23). This also means that there is a need to have freedom to “fail”, while at the same time celebrating the learnings that can only be captured through trying new things.
Celebration: Many pioneering leaders are so goal oriented that they neglect to slow down and celebrate the incredible thing that God is doing in and through them. Thrive will value the discipline of celebration by acknowledging the gifts that God brings during the journey (James 1:17).
New church planting is the only way that we can be sure we are going to increase the number of believers in a city and one of the best ways to renew the whole Body of Christ.
